Course Level

This course is meant for beginners. Knowledge of music theory is not required (although it doesn't harm).

Course content

Working with very small classes makes it possible to adapt and customise the course to match your interest and experience, so you are welcome to bring examples of your favourite music to analyse and discuss with expert tutors.

In any case the core of our course covers these topics:

  • Understanding Ableton's inteface
  • Ableton's plugins and additional content
  • Programming drums
  • Recording vocals and instruments
  • Sampling
  • Custom Grooves
  • Sound Design
  • Synthesis, creating bass lines
  • Melodic patterns
  • Working with MIDI
  • Arrangement and composition
  • Effects and how to use them
  • Compression and side-chain effects
  • Mixing with additional plugins

Teachers, not lecturers

We are all musicians, DJs, producers, we like to teach and share their passion (and the tricks we have learnt over the years) with like-minded individuals.

We are not interested in lecturing people and following rule-books, we are here to teach and learn from each other, and help you find your sound along the way.

And with classes limited to only 6 participants you are guaranteed to receive the attention you deserve for the duration of the course.

Course Outcome

The course is focused on modern production techniques and doesn't include the outdated sections that are still taught in certain schools, so we can cover a lot of ground in just a couple of days.

By the end of the course you will have a real understanding of how Ableton Live is used by top producers around the world and have the essential knowledge to continue working with Ableton to start your own career in music.

    Michel Radzi

  • It's amazing when you're shown the way... It's not really about the fancy toys, it changes how you listen to sound.

    Shaun Gordon

  • I thought I knew what EQ does and how to use it… I was wrong. I’d recommend this course to anyone.
